Friends of the Consortium
The Consortium of Academic Health Centers for Integrative Medicine is a membership organization of academic health centers and hospital and health care systems throughout North America. Our mission is to advance the field of integrative medicine through collaborative work in the areas of research, education, clinical care, and policy. Among other activities, the Consortium sponsors meetings and conferences every year that attract increasing numbers of participants. For example, the recent 2012 International Research Congress for Integrative Medicine and Health attracted 1,022 participants from 30 countries.
The Consortium also sponsors special programs such as the Leadership and Education Program for Students in Integrative Medicine (LEAPS into IM), which provides a weeklong experiential training opportunity for medical students to gain exposure to integrative health modalities and build relationships with faculty and peer mentors.
The Consortium, which now has 55 member institutions, celebrates a more than 10-year history that has advanced the principles and practices of integrative healthcare within our health care system. With our membership growing every year and our conferences attracting an increased number of participants from around the world, the Consortium has demonstrated its valuable and strategic position in the healthcare landscape. The Friends of the Consortium program was created to help sustain and grow the Consortium’s commitment to this important mission.
As a Friend of the Consortium you will have an opportunity to connect regularly with leaders in the integrative healthcare field and to make a positive impact on the strength of the Consortium, keeping it vibrant for the future. For a minimum annual donation of $10,000, the Friends of the Consortium program features the following:
- An invitation to participate in parts of the Consortium’s Annual Meeting, including one dinner and other networking opportunities.
- One complimentary registration to the Consortium’s conferences each year, and the opportunity to meet with Consortium leaders at these conferences.
- Subscription to the Consortium’s bi-weekly newsletter, Friday News, for regular updates on Consortium projects and activities.
- An annual update from the Consortium Chair or Vice Chair where they will have the opportunity to share their ideas on the Consortium’s activities and future directions. These meetings will be in person at the Consortium’s Annual Meeting or scheduled as a conference call.
