Clinical Care Working Group


Summary

The clinical working group has a goal of creating a collaborative atmosphere among institutions that currently have integrative medicine clinics, and those planning to develop clinical practices in the future. The Consortium of Academic Health Centers for Integrative Medicine has the capability to develop a model that can serve as a guide, in developing a functional working clinic in Integrative Medicine. In order to create such an atmosphere, information and strategies regarding issues such as, clinic administrative structures, credentialing, privileging, operational issues, as well as billing and insurance, will be addressed.

The clinical working group also has a goal to define key components that constitute an Integrative Medicine clinic such as: process issues, philosophy and, function. This will help improve the function of Integrative Medicine clinics as will as serve in the process of developing new clinic sites.
