TEACHING MINDFULNESS TO TEENS: A 2-DAY WORKSHOP
MARCH 21-22, 2015
ANN ARBOR, MI

University of Michigan Integrative Medicine Program is co-sponsoring a professional training workshop on March 21-22, 2015 that features Dr. Patricia Broderick, a clinical psychologist and faculty member at Penn State who has authored and scientifically tested a mindfulness curriculum program for adolescents called “Learning to BREATHE”. This 2-day workshop provides clinicians, teachers and other health professionals with practical skills, strategies and materials to support mindfulness skill development in adolescents.

Early bird registration for the TEEN training workshop (prior to March 1) is $245 or $175 for one day and includes a published manual. FACULTY TRAINING PROGRAM IN MIND-BODY MEDICINE

Adi Haramati and Nancy Harazduk wish to inform those interested in the Faculty Training Program in Mind-Body Medicine that the next training led by Nancy and Adi entitled, Educating for Enhanced Self-Awareness and Self-Care: An Experiential Faculty Training in Mind-Body Medicine, will take place April 23-26, 2015 at the Aspen Wye River Institute, which is a beautiful Marriott Conference Center, located 1 hour from BWI airport on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. This program is aimed at training faculty who wish to implement the mind-body program at their health professions school. There are currently only 4 slots left, so if you are planning on participating please submit your application as soon as possible. Adi would appreciate an email letting him know that you are interested in attending.

UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE INTER-PROFESSIONAL TRAINING INSTITUTE
SEEDING TRANSFORMATION: Enhancing Capacity For Integrative Healthcare In University Settings

This 3 day Institute, June 10-13, 2015 offers academic faculty the opportunity to gain the content, tools, materials and strategic thinking to build faculty development and educational programming in integrative healthcare tailored to their institutions. The Institute will involve an intimate small group format with no more than 15 participants. Participants will engage in reflective leadership exercises, creative problem solving and experiential practice to catalyze planning for implementation of faculty development and educational programming in integrative healthcare at their home institution. Participants will gain expertise from didactic presentations and individualized consultations with University of Michigan Integrative Medicine faculty who have developed successful clinical services and curriculums in integrative health at various learner levels and in various professional schools and departments. Participants will have opportunity to observe a live session from the year-long inter-disciplinary Faculty Scholars Program (FSP) in Integrative Healthcare that is now in its 13th year of implementation.

FASCIA RESEARCH CONGRESS
SEPTEMBER 18-20, 2015
WASHINGTON, DC

The International Fascia Research Congress is announced for September 18-20th, 2015 in Washington DC. This conference presented the latest and best scientific research on human and animal fasciae.

The principal focus of the conference is to bring scientists and clinicians together in the interest of furthering understanding of the unique role of fascia in health.  Presentations will include the latest and best scientific research on human and animal fasciae in all its forms and functions. Pre and post conference workshops will be held on the 17th and 21st.

Registration is now open. Until March 31, 2015, with an early registration discount, conference fees are $750. Members of the Fascia Research Society receive a $100 discount off Congress registration.

Authors are invited to submit abstracts that present new research related to fascia. The general categories requested for submitted abstracts are Basic science; Clinical mechanistic research; Research methodology; New Hypotheses; Fascial considerations for women, minorities, and persons with disability; and Other. Submissions will be accepted until March 15, 2015.
