MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR - GRATITUDE
Margaret A. Chesney, PhD
This month, as we enter the season of giving thanks, I would like to take a moment to thank all of you for being a part of the Consortium's community, and for your contributions to integrative medicine and health. In the coming months, I will use this space to highlight Consortium news that crosses my desk.
ICIMH Update: Speaking of calendars, early registration for the Consortium's International Congress for Integrative Medicine and Health just opened. Great news -- there will also be a call for late breaking abstract submissions which will be open February 1 -12, 2016. See the article and link below to take advantage of savings on registration.
Consortium's Members Meeting in Las Vegas: Last month the Consortium's Executive Committee met in Washington, DC and began plans for a very special Consortium Members Meeting in Las Vegas which will take place prior to the Pre-Conference Workshops and Congress. The Consortium's Members Meeting will provide opportunities for networking and valuable new integrative medicine content. It will begin with a welcome reception and brief program on Sunday evening, May 15th, and continue May 16, 2016 concluding with the Bravewell dinner that evening. All Consortium members (individual faculty, clinical practitioners, and staff) at Consortium Member Institutions and Health Centers are invited to attend. Make sure that you register for our Members Meeting when registering for the Congress at www.icimh.org/registration Watch our website and newsletter for updates. Registration for the Members Meeting is free for up to three individuals associated with Consortium member institutions when you register for the Congress. If more than three individuals from your institution register, the Consortium Office will ask your institution's Steering Committee member to determine how the fee of $200 per individual beyond three will be covered. Please plan to register for the Members Meeting!
NCCIH News: While in Washington, Rob Saper, Laura Degnon and I went to NCCIH to meet with Dr. Josie Briggs. Joining us, were Drs. David Shurtleff, Emmeline Edwards, and Karin Lohman. We thanked NCCIH for their support of the Consortium, particularly with regard to our Congresses. We had a very positive exchange about our shared missions and Dr. Briggs shared information about areas that are current priorities. See the article below for highlights and a new funding opportunity.Thank you again for your interest and contributions to integrative medicine and health. If you have ideas for the Consortium, or if I, or anyone at the Consortium office can be of assistance to you, please don’t hesitate to contact me at my email below.
